PRODUCE MANAGER

About the role
As the Produce Manager , you will play a crucial role in overseeing the management and operations of our fresh produce department. This full-time position is based in our Cairns, Queensland store, where you will be responsible for ensuring our customers have access to the highest quality, locally-sourced fruits and vegetables.

What you'll be doing

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the produce department, including inventory management, product ordering, and staff scheduling

• Liaise with local farmers and suppliers to source the freshest and most seasonal produce

• Ensure all produce is stored and displayed in accordance with food safety and quality standards

• Train and supervise a team of produce associates to provide exceptional customer service

• Analyse sales data and trends to optimise product selection and inventory levels

• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotions and visual merchandising strategies

• Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked produce department

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years of experience in produce management or a related role in the retail or grocery industry

• Strong knowledge of fresh produce, including handling, storage, and industry trends

• Excellent customer service skills and a passion for providing a high-quality shopping experience

• Proficiency in inventory management, budgeting, and financial analysis

• Effective communication and leadership skills to manage and motivate a team

• Adaptability and problem-solving skills to address daily operational challenges
