Two weeks on, one paid week off | Accommodation and vehicle provided | Work across remote communities and metro Darwin

Are you a mid-career or senior Occupational Therapist after genuine variety, complex clinical work, and a role where your skills are truly valued? This is a FIFO opportunity based out of Darwin, working across some of the most meaningful caseloads in the country.

About the Role

Based out of our Darwin/Garramilla office, you’ll work within a multidisciplinary team delivering therapy and assessment across clinic, community and remote outreach settings, including Arnhem Land, the Tiwi Islands and the greater Darwin region. Your caseload is tailored to your experience, interests and professional goals. You won’t be expected to cover every area of practice, just meaningful, manageable work that suits your expertise. If you haven't worked in a private practice before, we provide comprehensive onboarding support to make the transition from public system work simple and stress-free.

How the FIFO Model Works

This is a true FIFO role. You’ll work a two-week swing on rotation, then take a full week off that is paid. During school holidays your swing shifts to working from home, so the role flexes around the calendar.

Your on-swing runs on compressed hours, longer days while you’re out in community, which means your total hours across each cycle sit below a standard full-time load while you’re still paid for your week off. Flights, accommodation and a vehicle are provided while you’re on rotation, and travel is scheduled within working days, so your weekends stay your own. At least one remote region is visited each swing.

Key Benefits

• Competitive salary: $100,000–$120,000 + superannuation

• Two-week swing on, one full week off, paid

• Work-from-home swings during school holidays

• Compressed hours plus a paid week off, so you work under a standard full-time load

• Flights, accommodation and vehicle provided while on rotation

• Paid travel time scheduled on working days, weekends free

• Full administrative support, so no scheduling, billing or paperwork

• Monthly internal and external supervision

• Monthly professional development, both discipline-specific and multidisciplinary

Your Caseload May Include

• Functional Capacity and Home and Living Assessments for NDIS participants

• Ongoing therapy and capacity-building interventions

• Assistive Technology and home modifications

• Return to Country plans for people seeking to return to their homelands, permanently or temporarily

• Environmental risk and safety assessments

• Community transition plans for people in custody, including youth detention

• Multidisciplinary collaboration with Speech Pathology

• Community outreach and remote assessments

What We’re Looking For

• A mid-career or senior Occupational Therapist (roughly 3+ years post-qualification)

• Current AHPRA registration

• A neuro-affirming, trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach

• A genuine interest in remote and community outreach

• Confidence managing your own caseload within a multidisciplinary team

• A commitment to meaningful client outcomes and ongoing professional growth

• Open to FIFO from your home base, wherever that is, with travel covered by us
