About the business

We are an accounting firm based in Cairns, Far North Queensland. Due to the fast growth of the firm and an internal promotion, we are seeking a motivated and energetic colleague to join our team at our Cairns office. 

About the role

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Liaising with clients, including document collation;

• Preparing invoices, and debtor management;

• Assisting clients to access accounting and ATO software;

• Attending to general communication with ATO and ASIC;

• Liaising with, and providing administrative support to Indigenous Corporations;

• Providing simple IT support to staff members;

• Assisting the team of accountants with ad-hoc tasks; and

• Other general administrative duties as required.

Skills and experience

Requirements:

• Excellence with the Microsoft Office suite;

• Adept at learning new software;

• Must be proactive, organised and be self-motivated; and

• Strong communication skills.
  

Desirable:

• Experience in a professional environment;

• Sound written and oral communication skills in a professional setting;

• Beginner to intermediate IT skills; and

• Familiarity with people from regional and remote communities.
